"However, I also feared... well, simply those things that I saw happening in other "gay cities". This really took me by surprise. I had great economic plans for the city, but I couldn't see past the possible threat to morality (such as what I see in gay cities across the U.S. and across the globe, right now... such as what I have been posting - for your information). I'm not against gays... I just have a lot of fear that children's rights to grow up in wholesome environment will disappear (thinking of the open-sex gay pride parades, and the "fisting" lessons given to highschool kids in other cities). I want a family safe place for my children, their friends and all children to grow up innocently. Anyway, for a moment, or two, I thought, that maybe I could shed some light, and Covington, will consider the importance of putting family first. I kind of felt that my back was against the wall, and I couldn't just ignore what I knew in my heart to be true... and that I couldn't remain silent about it either.  Please accept my apologies. I had my eyes on the "sins" of other cities and was forgetting about how great *this* city is doing."

"On the organizations side, there are a lot of moving pieces there," Segal said of Covington. "I think what we've charted out and what we've heard from the community, if Covington can succeed in unifying the groups and using the plan as a guide to create tangible actions and really go about center city revitalization in a new way, this baby's gonna be a homerun." The plan's fate would rest in how well the organizations cooperate, Segal said. "The plan is great but how the organizations align themselves, how the resources are mobilized is the most telling piece. If Covington can find value in the organizational framework we've put together, then it will help advance a lot of these ideas."
It's got all the pieces we were looking for to move us forward in terms of revitalization.
The term "quick wins", a reference to positive development efforts that can be done immediately, was also frequently mentioned during the several public meetings hosted by PUMA over the past eight months and Kinney said that he hopes we will see some in action right away. "We're still in the process of having those things come together," Kinney said. "I think in the next month or two there will be quick wins coming out the door. This is a quote-unquote action plan and it was not intended to be the twenty-first plan but something that would have a long shelf life for this community."

The LGBT Rainbow Brigade of Issues & Causes that fuel our Pride and Independence! Greater Cincinnati Pride 2012 will be held on the last weekend of the National Pride Month. Saturday will feature the Parade and an enhanced Festival on the R...iverfront @ Sawyer Point on Saturday. The NKyPride Contribution is scheduled for Sunday July 1st! Word on the street is that it just may not happen; Frenchie Davis on The Banks is a pretty tough act to follow. Course, the fact that most of last year's Planners and Volunteers ended up; with their panties in a bunch, pissed at each other, resigning, taking their ball & not coming back this year leaving a 501(c)3 shell ripe for a New Action Plan and some Quick Community Grassroots planning, organizing and volunteering. "Pride & Independence: It's NOT Just a Gay thing, Anymore" Sunday July 1st on The South Bank.
