CITY CONSIDERS ADDING NINE HOMES NEAR NEW JACOB PRICE DEVELOPMENT
At this week's meeting of the Housing Authority of Covington Board, it was suggested that Covington could cede nine pieces of property that it owns so that new single family homes could be constructed there by the Housing Authority. HAC would pursue the project using federal "Hope VI" funding from Housing & Urban Development. The goal would be to create more and better home ownership opportunities in the area between Licking Riverside Historic District and the new Jacob Price housing development which will be called, "River's Edge @ Eastside Point". The boundaries for the proposed homes would be the blocks surrounded by Greenup, 9th, Prospect and East Robbins Streets.
- City would provide those lots "gratis" to HAC
- HAC staff is to have preliminary info next week
- Covington's Community Development Dept will meet with HAC to develop a concrete plan for the proposed project
This development is in the very early stages. The River City News will continue to follow.

Core Value: One-on-One Service
Tom Smith confesses his company’s web site could probably use a little work. “It’s more of a hobby than part of the job,” he chuckles.
Sure, slick web sites are nice. But there are successful businesses, like A&S Electric Supply of Erlanger, whose business model has worked just fine for 40 years based on one-on-one service, promptly getting customers the right parts for the job at hand. Sort of the original meaning of “interactive.”
“We are a face-to-face, over-the-phone company. We aren’t a global-economy type of business,” says Smith. “I would rather do a good job for a core of people in this region than trying to overcome the world with volume. That’s not our business philosophy.”
Couldn't have said it better myself, James! I've done Sleep-Out for the Homeless at the Covington Federal Courthouse, AIDS CandleLight Memorials on the Purple People Bridge, had Community Awareness discussions at the Library, Celebrated PRIDE on Fountain Square and most recently; "World AIDS Day @ the World Peace Bell" where I felt like a Lone Voice crying out in the wilderness...
